About Me

Different is good…  (my life’s strategy statement).

It’s the overarching narrative in my young life’s story... As a first-generation immigrant raised by Jamaican parents, whose culture brought the United States popular icons like, Marcus Garvey, Bob Marley and of course Red Stripe beer.  I learned that different is good. Jamaican culture has a long history of philosophizing the idea of freedom and what liberty means. Different is Good.

Different is good.  I spent my formative college years at Virginia Commonwealth University where I studied various courses in communication from the Robertson School for Media and Culture. There I learned, Different is good.  I learned that I am 1 of 8.2 billion people experiencing this exact moment in time, and that we are all scrambling to make sense of our history, from our first breaths…to our last. Different is Good. Life’s lessons have taught me, people are more than what they seem. Different is good. Everyone is a character in their life’s story, and the more time we make to explore the unknown, the more we realize, different is good.

Since I was a kid, I’ve always been different. I see the world differently, I’m imaginative, expressive, artistic, empathetic,  caring and explorative. I’m the quid essential creative brand strategist because I revel in being different. Being “different” therein lies a truth that I’ve also discovered – our differences make us the same. Each of us strive for basic human understanding: compassion, empathy, love, and a yearning for stability. Life’s real challenges therefor lie in creating commonality that each of us can recognize in our ourselves, not just the outliers. Which is where my craft for story telling and brand strategy begins… From a strategical standpoint – I want the audience to view themselves as the protagonist. Relatability is a powerful connector; it proves that we share more in common than not and that different is good.

What the future has in store for me, I do not have the answer, but I hope dear reader that our paths will cross, and we will learn a noble truth worth sharing. Different is good.
